[Work's as demanding as ever, calling for midnight meetings to teleconference with clients on the other side of the planet. The world no longer sleeps and, as a consequence, neither does she. When she gets home, she wants nothing more than a quick cup of tea before falling into bed. Sauntering into the kitchen to put a kettle on, she walks in on him snoozing at the table. The flowers are the first to catch her eye before her gaze wanders to the note and the flowers. In simple scrawl, he's written out "Happy Anniversary." Hm, was that today? She wonders if she should wake him. Had he done all this while waiting up for her? There's a pang of guilt as she seats herself across from him, watching him sleep.
